SKYLINE

Skyline by Drakiri-Archives

OVERVIEW

Marking Codes: /cSky/nSky/SkySky

  • The bottom half of the Drakiri is black or darker than the base coat with the edge of the marking resembling a Skyline, with an optional soft light gradient behind it. Several layers of this skyline effect can be added to create a sense of depth. The soft light gradient can be effected by Glimmer.

  • This marking can look like trees, or mountains, or rolling hills, or even a cityscape or fantasy landscapes, or a little house on a hill. Light spots, resembling windows, are allowed on Skyline if a cityscape or other building/s is being used for inspiration. These windows should be yellowish, but can be effected by Glimmer or Firefly. With Glimmer, they can be any color, with Firefly they can glow.
  • Skyline + Embossed can give you interesting effects such as actually having outlines of trees, buildings or even mushrooms!
  • Skyline can create cloud shapes above the the main marking, these can be stylized or soft.
  • Skyline can create basic bird shapes, specifically the stylized "M shaped bird" (Example below). Embossed can change this into a more detailed bird or an airplane.
Birds V Images, Stock Photos & Vectors | ShutterstockFlock Of Birds clip art Free vector in Open office drawing svg ( .svg ) vector illustration graphic art design format format for free download 59.03KB
RANGE AND DETAILS
  • Skyline must at least have a little bit of the skyline effect covering the legs and peeking over the scales OR a few  stylized m-shaped birds around the shoulders, hindquarters, or midsection. Alternatively, it can create a "floating island" effect on the hindquarters, shoulders, or midsection, and should look like the silhouette of a floating island. It can have the cloudy effects wrapping around the base and spreading across the Drakiri and stylized m-shaped birds around it. It can not touch the back, or the scales on the back if the Drakiri has scales there, but it can come close. It can, however, touch the shoulder scales on Mystics and applicable Mystic crosses. The not touching the back rule still applies.
COLOR, TEXTURE AND GRADIENT details
  • It can follow any skyline silhouette, including cities. If using a city, little squares can appear on the "buildings" resembling lit windows in light yellowish. Firefly can make these windows actually glow.
  • The Skyline must be dark, or black, It can fade out on the legs, either into a lighter gradient, or fading into the base coat.
  • The gradient can be a lighter shade of the base coat, white, off white, or faintly yellowish
  • Several layers of Skyline effect can be used to create depth, each of these layers can have a subtle lighter gradient on it to bring them out.
  • Small specks are allowed to simulate lights, same color as the "lights" from the Cityscape
  • Small petal-shaped flecks can be allowed, to simulate floating particles or leaves
 LAYERING
  • Skyline can layer over or under other markings for some very interesting effects

PHYSICAL MUTATIONS
  • It does not effect the wings of Phoenix

Toxin New 7 by Drakiri-Archives

OVERVIEW

Marking Codes: /cTox/nTox/ToxTox

  • Toxin is a beautiful marking inspired by the exotic, but dangerously toxic, Poison Dart Frog. Shown above are SEVERAL examples of what it can do. It can minimally create blotchy/bandy/spotty markings in black or in colors inspired by real poison dart frogs. Look at dart frogs for inspiration for these colors!

  • The black markings can be surrounded by uneven patching with bright dart frog inspired colors gradiented onto it, or have uneven borders around it in these colors. The black spotting can be densely packed on this, and can even have light soft rings/borders around it on these spots. Shown above are a few examples of the effects of Toxin. Have fun!
  • Alternatively, Toxin may be restricted to the scales, giving them the colors of a Poison Dart Frog without needing Bicolor or Tricolor, and giving the poison dart frog spotting all over them.
  • Toxin may not appear on the body if it is restricting to the scales unless Marked Scales is used. HOWEVER, the black part can leak onto the scales if using the normal way Toxin works.

RANGE AND DETAILS
  • Toxin can effect any part of the Drakiri's body, but does not touch the Mane or Tail fur, nor does it touch the horns or hooves, mouth, or flesh. At least a small patch of Toxin should appear around the shoulders, midsection, or flank area.

OTHER INFORMATION
  • If you are not sure on the shape of Toxin, include an image of the dart frog you used for reference when submitting your Drakiri for approval.
  • On Epistatic White Drakiri, Toxin can take on subtle pastel colors with the black parts being light grey, or restrict to the scales in its normal colors.

Ticked (Common)

Category: Markings

OVERVIEW

Marking Code: /cTik/nTik/TikTik

  • Ticked is a mane specific marking that creates ticking and flecking in the mane and tail fur. Shown above are several examples of what Ticked can do. It can appear as fairly long, so long as it doesn't stretch from the body to the tip of the mane. Ticking can be lighter or darker than the mane beneath it, or a mix of light and dark. It can not too closely resemble Barring or Mane Tips, but it can interact with other mane markings for some really neat effects. How you make it interact is up to you!

RANGE AND DETAILS

  • Ticked can only appear in the mane and tail fur. It can not appear on the body or anywhere else.

MIN RANGE

  • Just a few tickmarks somewhere in the mane and tail fur

MAX RANGE

  • Ticking all over the mane and tail fur.

Flecks (Common)

Category: Markings

OVERVIEW

Marking Code: /cFlek/nFlek/FlekFlek

  • Flecked is a common marking found on the scales of a Drakiri. Flecked creates various uneven fleck like markings, similar to dalmation jasper or other stones. The example above shows several of the shapes Flecks can take.

RANGE AND DETAILS

  • Flecks can appear on any scales on the body, and can also effect the hooves and horn/s. Flecked does not effect the body. On Drakiri with the Smooth mutation, Flecks can either appear on the horns and hooves, or not be visible on the import.

MIN RANGE

  • Just a few little flecks somewhere on the scales, or on the hooves and/or horn/s.

MAX RANGE

  • Every scale completely covered in the tricolored little markings

Color and Texture

  • Flecks can be three shades of the scale color, with bits of white and bits of black in as well.  Flecks should be a color relative to the scale color, or various shades of white, grey and black.  When on the horns and hooves, Flecks can not reflect the color of the scales without Glimmer. It should then take natural colors, or the very dsaturated scale color if that is used on the horns. Flecks can be textured, and they can bunch together, but they should not be as big as the spots found in Stained or Bleached.

Possible Interactions

  • When interacting with Stained or Bleached, it can create much larger splotches in with the flecks, and have flecking form a blend between the dark parts of the scales and the lighter parts. Interacting with Stained or Bleached adds a fourth shade of color to Flecks, interacting with both adds a fifth.
  • When interacting with Iridescent scales, Flecks can take on a sparkly shine or metallic look, like bits of crystal or metal in stone.
