Traits

Flecks (Common)

Category: Markings

OVERVIEW

Marking Code: /cFlek/nFlek/FlekFlek

  • Flecked is a common marking found on the scales of a Drakiri. Flecked creates various uneven fleck like markings, similar to dalmation jasper or other stones. The example above shows several of the shapes Flecks can take.

RANGE AND DETAILS

  • Flecks can appear on any scales on the body, and can also effect the hooves and horn/s. Flecked does not effect the body. On Drakiri with the Smooth mutation, Flecks can either appear on the horns and hooves, or not be visible on the import.

MIN RANGE

  • Just a few little flecks somewhere on the scales, or on the hooves and/or horn/s.

MAX RANGE

  • Every scale completely covered in the tricolored little markings

Color and Texture

  • Flecks can be three shades of the scale color, with bits of white and bits of black in as well.  Flecks should be a color relative to the scale color, or various shades of white, grey and black.  When on the horns and hooves, Flecks can not reflect the color of the scales without Glimmer. It should then take natural colors, or the very dsaturated scale color if that is used on the horns. Flecks can be textured, and they can bunch together, but they should not be as big as the spots found in Stained or Bleached.

Possible Interactions

  • When interacting with Stained or Bleached, it can create much larger splotches in with the flecks, and have flecking form a blend between the dark parts of the scales and the lighter parts. Interacting with Stained or Bleached adds a fourth shade of color to Flecks, interacting with both adds a fifth.
  • When interacting with Iridescent scales, Flecks can take on a sparkly shine or metallic look, like bits of crystal or metal in stone.

Ticked (Common)

Category: Markings

OVERVIEW

Marking Code: /cTik/nTik/TikTik

  • Ticked is a mane specific marking that creates ticking and flecking in the mane and tail fur. Shown above are several examples of what Ticked can do. It can appear as fairly long, so long as it doesn't stretch from the body to the tip of the mane. Ticking can be lighter or darker than the mane beneath it, or a mix of light and dark. It can not too closely resemble Barring or Mane Tips, but it can interact with other mane markings for some really neat effects. How you make it interact is up to you!

RANGE AND DETAILS

  • Ticked can only appear in the mane and tail fur. It can not appear on the body or anywhere else.

MIN RANGE

  • Just a few tickmarks somewhere in the mane and tail fur

MAX RANGE

  • Ticking all over the mane and tail fur.

Marking Codes: /cTro/nTro/TroTro

  • Tropical mimics the colors and patterns found on various birds. While tropical birds are often the most colorful, this can follow any bird in its colors, patterns, and markings. Unlike other similar markings, it does not always cover up the markings, but rather changes their colors to vibrant, tropical macaw like colors. Face markings based on various birds are permitted on Drakiri with this legendary marking. Optionally, the Drakiri may take on the markings and colors of a

RANGE AND DETAILS
  • Tropical is a fullbody modifier, changing the color of the basecoat, scales and mane. It can mimic any exotically colored bird.

COLOR TEXTURE AND GRADIENT
  • The Colors of the Tropical marking are almost limitless, being inspired by macaws, parrots, Parakeets and other tropical birds. Other birds, however, are allowed for the inspiration! It does not have to be a tropical bird; they are just the most colorful.
  • Markings such as Dipped, Panda, Blanket, Underbelly and similar become a vibrant tropical color while markings such as Leopard, Tabby and other stripe and spot style markings are allowed to be black against the vibrant colors beneath.
  • Tropical is a color modifier that does not cover up markings, but does cover up all other modifiers, including coat modifiers. No matter what coat color or modifiers your Drakiri has, you can choose any vibrant tropical color that comes from or is inspired by a tropical bird.
 LAYERING
  • Tropical is a fullbody color modifier that can lay between or above any and all markings

PHYSICAL MUTATIONS
  • Tropical will extend the modifying colors and patterns onto the wings of Phoenix. All modified markings follow the rules of everything aside from color. Tropical can also give the wings the patterns and colors found on real birds.

OTHER INFORMATION
  • When submitting a Drakiri with Tropical to Design Approval, please provide a photo of the bird you referenced for your Drakiri if you aren't sure if the colors chosen are acceptable.
  • Tropical is a pretty lenient marking, and has many choices of what you can do with it.

  • A legendary marking that has many options, Gemstone is a beautiful marking that is also very versatile! Gemstone can change the basecoat coat the the color of a gemstone with the markings appearing on that type of gem or mineral, or, in cases like Picture Jasper, cover up the markings of a Drakiri entirely giving a very unique effect. Alternatively, Gemstone can give the Drakiri a fasceted pattern and change their coat color to bright or vibrant colors without the need for coat modifiers. It can also have a "Geode" effect with patches on the Drakiri traced in dark or light, with layers of color within, or those patches having the effects of various gemstones and picture jaspers in it. (Examples coming soon)
  • Gemstone can also restrict to the scales, making them appear to be made out of gems, such as Picture Jasper or other pretty and varied gems.

  • A Drakiri can also gain a crystalline, faceted texture, with the markings subtle on their shining, Crystalline body.

LAYERING
  • Gemstone covers the colors and modifiers present on a Drakiri, and can, optionally, cover the markings, but can also change the color of markings.
